"Thank you, Bulgaria. Thank you, Plovdiv. You organized a great world championship.

I want to congratulate every person involved in the organizarion of this exciting world championship. Thanks to the state, to the Minister of Youth and Sports Krasen Kralev, the Municipality of Plovdiv, the mayor of the town Ivan Totev, and thanks to the chairman of the organizing committee Ivan Popov. Thanks for the accomplished and excellent conditions. Special thanks to the volunteers without whom such a great championship can not be held. Thanks again, Bulgaria! "This was stated by the president of the International Rowing Federation Jean-Christophe Roland during the official closing ceremony of the 2018 World Rowing Championships for Men and Women in Plovdiv.

Jean-Christophe Roland awarded honorific medals for a great contribution to the development of the rowing to the Minister of Youth and Sports of Bulgaria Krasen Kralev, the mayor of Plovdiv Ivan Totev and the chairman of the organizing rowing committee Ivan Popov.

On the last day of the championship in Plovdiv were distributed 8 sets of medals.

The first place in the General Ranking was for Italy, who grabbed 3 golden, 4 silver and a bronze medal. The Americans won 3 times silver and 4 times bronze, which gave them the first place in a number of medals - a total of 10.

Bulgaria recorded its best ranking at the World Rowing Championship on the last day. The newly formed men's scull pair - Kristian Vassilev and Boris Yotov ranked 12th in the final position of the discipline after finishing 6th in final B.

Norway ranked among the winners of the World Championships in the last day. The Scandinavian players won their first medals in Plovdiv - 2 gold medals.

Women №1 became Sanita Puspure (Ireland). Erik Hori (Australia) won the gold medal in Para PR1 Man's Single Skulls.
