Plovdiv will host the Men’s World Rowing Championship that will take place between 9th and 16th September 2018. Over 1200 candidates have applied for participation so far.
“The Rowing channel is a well-known destination. Our channel is famous for its unique location. It gives equal conditions to all rowers regardless of the lane in which they compete. Very few channels in the world can provide such conditions”, said Svilen Neykov, president of the Bulgarian Rowing Federation.
The World Rowing Federation /FISA/ has always given high rating to the championships organized in Plovdiv. In recent years the city established itself as an excellent host. The second largest city in Bulgaria accepted the European Rowing Championship in 2011, the World Youth Rowing Championship in 2012, the World Rowing Under 23 Championships in 2015 and 2017.
